Rise of the Planet of the Apes Rating: PG-13 (for intense and frightening sequences of action and violence) Hitting Theaters August 5, 2011
I recall first seeing the movie trailer for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" a few months ago, before another movie, in a theater, and recall how amazing this movie looked, it was creepy it was so real, I wasn't sure what it was until I heard the name "Ceasar" then I realized, this was the ape from the classics with Charlton Heston and the more recent Planet of the Apes in 2001 starring Mark Walberg.
In short, this trailer, got me excited, by the time I was at the end, saw the title, this (along with Captain America which comes out tomorrow! July 22, 2011) is on my MUST SEE movie list this summer. I can't wait. I wrote about it just now as I was on a website, and in preview to a video I wanted to watch (at colbertnation.com), this trailer came up, a newer, longer one. I had to share about it and the links so you could see it for yourself. Here is the movie page with both movie trailers at Apple Trailers.
By 20th Century Fox, if you don't feel troubled or feel something for these humanoid looking apes, go to the official website here http://www.apeswillrise.com and check out the still photos, it will blow your mind (it was amazing to me anyway).
It's funny by the way, in history, names of the month, the month of July was named for Julis Caesar, and August for Caesar Augustus. Then we get a new movie out around the same time frame. Was this planned? Who knows. Looking forward to it, and will see it asap and post a movie review right away.

Puss in Boots Rating: PG? In Theaters: November 4, 2011
While I was a student at Digital Animation Academy at Victor Valley College, I had the pleasure of being a member of a test audience to watch Shrek at Dreamworks back in 2000. I've been a fan ever since. Today, I saw a preview online for Dreamworks new digitally animated film (which will also be in 3-D), "Puss in Boots" starring the voice of Antonio Bandaras. If you've seen Shrek, you already know Puss is a purrfect feline version of Zorro. His character is great, honor and battle oriented but still looking for ways to cat-nap when he can.
Now in his very own legend and saga, "Puss in Boots" is set to be released in theaters November 4, 2011.
Starring the voices of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris.
You can see the official movie trailer here at Yahoo! Movies.
Will I see it? Definitely. I was laughing when I saw Humpty Dumpty is in this. IMDB (internet movie data-base) says in its synop:
"A story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends." -imdb.com Click here for more info on the movie from imdb.com
Puss in Boots Looks like fun for all ages. Dreamworks does it again. We will post an update as we approach the films release!

I had the pleasure of watching Super 8 (in HD) last night. It was superb. It was a creepier, edgier, faster, smarter movie than Goonies (1985) or ET the Extra Terrestrial (1982) combined. Great camera work and the kid actors in the movie were so good, I believe many modern adult actors can take a few tips from these kids' great screen skills. Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by J.J. Abrams (who's last film was Star Trek). Spoiler ahead! Instead of the alien juist being ET, it was sub-ET. Watch the movie, you'll know what I mean.
Movie synopsis: "In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined." - movies.yahoo.com
Super 8 although it was a story about kids in Ohio that witness a terrible train accident, military comes to town, etc., I'd have a hard time taking younger ones to watch this, it was scary at times, everyone in the theater was on the edge of their seat, it was great movie making. If you want a thrill ride of a movie, watch this film.

Spoiler alert! Not! This is not a Movie Review! The movie is in production, this is a review of bits and pieces of what's to come.
Quentin Tarantino has taken the world for quite a ride. Ever since his debut of "Pulp Fiction" which was said to turn around actor Samuel L. Jackson's and John Travolta careers, Tarintino has created quite a following and demand for his own post-pop-culture style of story telling.
According to the LA Times, Tarintino has been trying to cast an actor for a lead role in his newest film "Django Unchained", a film about "A slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from the brutal Calvin Candie, a Mississippi plantation owner." -imdb.com Tarintino's hardcore film-making has a great number of followers. Some of his best know movies include big movie titles with A-list actors, films such as: Oscar winning Pulp Fiction (1994), Kill Bill, Kill Bill 2, Grindhouse, Inglorious Bastards (a gory action fiction film set in Nazi Germany during World War II). Tarintino attracts a great cast in his major movies. Django Unchained promises to be controversial, fun fiction if you are a Tarintino fan.
